Rainbownhome.com

Business located in Boulder, CO

Built for home cooks who want quality, speed, and comfort (especially 45+ / 60+). This duo replaces the fiddly, smelly garlic routine with a simple two-step flow you can picture instantly: roll to peel, then press to mince — fast, clean, and gentle on your hands.

What’s inside

  • GarlicZap — Quick & Effortless Peeler (BPA-free silicone, 5.5 × 1.4 in, 1.6 oz)

  • Premium Stainless Steel Garlic Press (ergonomic curved design, ~2 × 4 × 2.7 in)

Bundle advantage: You automatically save ~15% versus buying each item separately.

How it works — crystal clear

1) Peel in seconds with GarlicZap

What you do

  1. Break the bulb into individual cloves.

  2. Drop 1–3 cloves inside the silicone roller.

  3. Press lightly with your palm and roll back-and-forth on the counter 2–4 times.

  4. Tip out the clean cloves; the papery skins stay behind (or fall out when you flip it).

What you’ll notice

  • No pinching, no fingernails, no knife.

  • No odor on hands — you’re touching silicone, not sticky garlic.

  • Skins separate cleanly; cloves come out whole and uncrushed (ideal for flavor control).

Pro tips

  • Very small/dry cloves? Roll once, trim the root nub if needed, then roll again.

  • Big batch? Work in small handfuls (2–3 cloves) for the most effortless roll.

  • Cleaning: Flip inside-out under the faucet or place on the top rack of your dishwasher.

2) Mince ultra-smooth with the Stainless Steel Garlic Press

What you do (curved, leverage-assist rocker style)

  1. Place the peeled clove on a cutting board.

  2. Set the press over the clove (grid touching the garlic).

  3. Rock forward and back with gentle, even pressure — the grid pushes garlic through in a fine mince.

  4. Scrape the smooth paste off the grid with a spoon or spatula and into your pan or bowl.

What you’ll notice

  • Less hand strain thanks to the curved leverage — you’re “rocking,” not squeezing hard.

  • Finer, more even mince than most hand chopping, for cleaner flavor release and fast sautéing.

  • Works great for ginger, shallots, and small chilies as well.

Pro tips

  • For very mild garlic, mince and cook right away.

  • For extra punch, mince and let it rest ~1 minute before heating.

  • Cleanup: Rinse immediately or go dishwasher top rack. A soft brush clears the grid in seconds.

Why this duo just works

  • Comfort first: Light rolling + leverage rocking = less force, less joint stress.

  • No mess, no odor: Zero-touch peeling keeps hands fresh and counters tidy.

  • Consistent results: Whole peeled cloves → fine, even mince you can repeat every time.

  • Everyday fast: Peel and mince what you need in under a minute.

Use cases you’ll love

  • Weeknight pastas & stir-fries: get smooth garlic paste that sautés in seconds.

  • Marinades & dressings: even mince means balanced flavor (no harsh chunks).

  • Meal prep: peel a handful at once, press as you cook to keep aroma fresh.

  • Hands sensitive to strain/odor: “Roll, press, rinse” is gentle and clean.

At-a-glance care

  • GarlicZap Peeler: Flip inside-out to rinse. Dishwasher-safe.

  • Stainless Steel Press: Rinse right after use or top-rack dishwasher. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant.

Roll to peel. Lever to press. Clean hands, full flavor, every time — and you save ~15% with the bundle.

Crushing Garlic Isn’t Just a Prep Step — It’s a Biochemical Trigger

Most people don’t realize that garlic only unlocks its full potential when crushed the right way. When you press or mince fresh garlic, a natural enzymatic reaction takes place: alliin, a sulfur-containing compound, is converted by the enzyme alliinase into allicin — a powerhouse compound known for its:

  • Natural antibacterial and antiviral properties
  • Blood pressure and cholesterol reduction
  • Cardiovascular protection and anti-inflammatory effects
  • Even potential anti-cancer activity (Iciek et al., 2009; Amagase, 2006)

But here’s the catch: this reaction only occurs if garlic is properly crushed or pressed. A 2001 study published in The Journal of Nutrition confirmed that whole garlic cloves or garlic cooked immediately after chopping do not produce allicin, because the enzyme alliinase doesn’t get the time it needs to activate.

What Does the Science Say?

According to the Linus Pauling Institute (Oregon State University):

“Letting garlic sit for 10 minutes after crushing it maximizes allicin production — a benefit that is almost entirely lost if garlic is cooked immediately.”
(Linus Pauling Institute, 2020)

Additionally, a 2007 study in Food Chemistry found that mechanically pressing garlic yields more than twice the allicin content compared to roughly hand-chopping.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Dora Stone - a chef and creator of Dora’s Table

A garlic press can save you some time, especially if a recipe calls for a lot of minced garlic. I spend a lot of the day cooking and I'm always looking for tools that are efficient and time-saving.

Marjorie from Illinois

Honey, I’m 67 and I never thought I’d use one of these—but now I press garlic like a pro!

Not All Garlic Presses Are Created Equal

Most cheap garlic presses look similar — until you actually use them.

While lower-end options often come with flimsy plastic handles and dull pressing plates that require both hands and a lot of muscle, the RainbownHome Garlic Press was built differently.

  • Reinforced premium handle feels solid in the hand — no bending, no slipping.
  • Precision-engineered pressing plate slices clean through cloves with minimal force.
  • Rust-resistant stainless steel ensures long-term durability, not just a few uses.

With RainbownHome, you don’t have to struggle to get fresh garlic.
You just press — effortlessly — and enjoy.

FAQs

Not necessarily. You can press a whole clove with its skin on – the garlic will be pressed through, and the peel stays behind in the chamber.

For an even smoother press and easier cleanup, we recommend using GarlicZap, our silicone garlic peeler. It takes just a few seconds to remove the peel, no sticky fingers involved.

Not at all. Our garlic press features an ergonomic, curved handle designed to reduce hand strain. It requires 30–40% less effort compared to traditional hinge-style garlic presses.

Not really. Right after pressing, just rinse it under running water and most of the garlic residue will wash away easily. Dishwasher safe .

Yes. The press minces the garlic finely and evenly, releasing its full flavor and allicin content – the part that gives garlic its aroma and health benefits.

Compared to chopping, pressing often results in a stronger and more even flavor, especially when sautéing or marinating.

Yes, and it’s incredibly satisfying to use. Just insert a few cloves, press lightly with your palm, and roll the tube back and forth a few times. The peel will separate cleanly, leaving your cloves ready to go.

No knives, no sticky hands, no mess.
