About Us

I’m Linh, the founder of RainbownHome. Before I started this business, I was a food writer for AllRecipes, where I covered kitchen tools, cookware, and small appliances to help home cooks make smarter shopping decisions.

My journey in food writing began in 2018, contributing to Delish and Thrillist, testing kitchen gadgets, and sharing cooking tips. But my background? It’s far from traditional.

I never finished high school. Instead, in 2013, I spent four years as a hacker—yes, you read that right. But by 2017, I decided to turn over a new leaf.

I discovered something unexpected: I loved cooking. I loved stir-frying, experimenting with flavors, and creating dishes from scratch. So, I pursued formal training, earning certifications in journalism, creative writing, and food criticism from New York University (NYU).

That led me to writing about food, then to guiding new cooks at AllRecipes. But something kept bothering me.

The Problem No One Talks About in Home Cooking

In 2023, after years of working in food media, I noticed a pattern:

  1.  80% of people who start cooking at home give up. They don’t know where to begin, what tools to buy, or how to make it feel less overwhelming.
  2.  10% of home cooks (especially homemakers) feel exhausted. Cooking has become a daily chore, and they’ve lost the joy in it.

That’s when I realized: The right kitchen tools can change everything.

Not overpriced, trendy gadgets. Not useless gimmicks. But real, well-designed tools that solve real kitchen problems.

So, in 2023, I shifted from writing about cooking to creating tools that make it easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

RainbownHome: Built to Make Cooking Better

Now in our third year, RainbownHome is a Colorado-based kitchenware brand with 18 employees—including my mother, who runs our physical store. Meanwhile, I, along with my small online team, focus on developing innovative kitchen tools and ensuring that every product we sell has a real purpose.

At our Colorado factory, I personally oversee product development, testing each design to make sure it truly improves the cooking experience.

Because I believe that prepping meals should feel like a joy, not a burden.

With nearly a decade of experience in food writing and kitchen product testing, I know that the right tools don’t just help you cook—they make you want to cook.

So whether you’re a beginner struggling to get started or a home cook tired of the same old kitchen frustrations, my goal is to create products that bring fresh energy and excitement to your time in the kitchen.

Cooking shouldn’t feel like a chore.
It should feel like home.
